INTER EYE RETURN TO WINNING WAYS

Inter Milan are eyeing a return to victory ways in the league ahead of the visit of Benevento on Saturday night. Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte had masterminded the rise of his team to the top two places on the Italian Serie A table following the run of eight straight wins but they have stuttered in recent games.

Inter Milan have picked up just two wins from the last five games in the league on the back of the eight-game winning run pointed out earlier as they have failed to take advantage of the recent poor form of league leaders and city rivals AC Milan.

Those five games have yielded eight points due to the record of two wins, two draws and one defeat to Sampdoria. Last weekend, Inter Milan missed out on the chance to share top spot with AC Milan after they were forced to a goalless draw with hosts Udinese. Leaders AC Milan lost 3-0 at home to Atalanta but Inter Milan were unable to capitaliseon the big defeat suffered by their fierce rivals. The draw with Udinese left them two points adrift of Milan as they were only able to close the previous three-point gap to two points.
Antonio Conte and his Inter Milan players prepared for the home game with Benevento encounter later today with the Coppa Italia quarterfinal win over AC Milan. Inter Milan came from a goal deficit to beat the Rossoneri2-1 at home to seal a place in the last four of the competition. Inter Milan benefited from the red card to AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. By the time of his dismissal, Ibrahimovic had given Milan a first half lead. He was sent off for two yellow cards in the second half and Inter Milan capitalised with goals from RomeluLukaku (penalty) and Christian Eriksen.
