Rafinha Wants Inter Milan Stay Irrespective Of Champions League Football
Brazilian footballer Rafinha is reportedly keen to remain at Inter Milan next season, according to his father. The midfielder has grown into his game since his loan move from Barcelona last summer and his father Mazinho, a former Serie A player himself, believes the Nerazzurri are the perfect club for his son to progress.
Speaking on FC Inter News, he said: “Everything depends on what Inter want to do. Whether they qualify for the Europa League or Champions League is irrelevant. For me, it makes sense for the Nerazzurri to keep such an important player like Rafa.He is young and has a big future ahead of him. All of us are happy in Milan at the moment, but we must wait.Does he wants to stay? Absolutely, we’re very happy at Inter. The team are giving value to his football.”
Inter have been lingering in and around the Champions League positions for the campaign and they are currently two points adrift of fourth-placed Lazio, who host them in the final game of the Serie A season. As such, the Nerazzurri need to win their upcoming home game against Sassuolo in order to give them the opportunity to beat Lazio in the curtain closer.
Luciano Spalletti’s side looked like genuine challengers for the Serie A crown during the first half of the season but their form supposedly nose-dived following the turn of the year alongside AS Roma. Nevertheless, the club can take some positives from their progress when compared to the previous season where they failed to qualify for Europe.
With their fifth spot, the Nerazzurri will at least make the Europa League group stage at the worst situation and this should be considered as a sign of improvement under Spalletti. Inter have won three of the previous four league games with their only defeat coming in a late 3-2 loss to Juventus.
Joao Mario Does Not See Himself Playing For Inter Milan Again
Portugal international Joao Mario has suggested that Inter Milan are part of his past as he looks to revive his playing career. The Euro 2016 winner struggled to gametime during the first half of the season with the Nerazzurri, and this urged him to join the Hammers on a short-term loan in January. The midfielder started his Hammers career in a relatively strong fashion, but over the past month, the fans have slated his showing on the playing field.
Speaking in an interview in Portugal, the 25-year-old as quizzed about his future plans, where he highlighted that he has no desire to plying his trade for the Nerazzurri, he said: “I’m in a new league and I’m trying to adapt quickly. I’m happy with my new adventure and I hope to finish the season well. Inter are part of my past now. I could have played more, but football is about that too. Now I’m happy and that’s what matters most.”
It is yet to be seen whether the Hammers could pursue a permanent deal for Mario, but judging by their performances of late, there is the possibility of a squad overhaul during the summer. Should the club be interested even, they may need to preserve their Premier League status, which appears far from certain after a couple of horrendous performances.
Since the Watford victory last month, the east London side have suffered three straight losses, which have increased the fury among the club’s faithful. The Hammers suffered 4-1 defeats on the road to Liverpool and Swansea City, and this was followed by a lacklustre home performance against Burnley that brought the unwanted sight of fans trying to pause the game.
Things are not rosy for the Capital outfit at the moment with fans calling for the owners to sell the club, and the next couple of Premier League games could define whether the players have the concentration levels to keep the club clear of the drop zone. West Ham are presently two points behind 18th-placed Southampton, whom they tackle in their next league game.
Rafinha has no plans of making Barcelona comeback
Brazilian footballer Rafinha has revealed his desire to sign a permanent deal with Inter Milan at the end of the current season. The 25-year-old joined the Nerazzurri on a short-term loan from Barcelona last month, though the Italian side have the option to buy him outright for €38 million in the summer.

Rafinha made his maiden league start for Inter during their 2-0 win over Benevento, and shortly after the game, he highlighted his ambition to remain with the San Siro outfit, he said: “Of course, that’s what I want. I did not come here thinking that I will recover my form and go back to Barcelona. I want to stay here, then all else will depend on Inter. I feel good, I’m finding the right rhythm, I’m happy with my condition and I’m adapting.”

The Sao Paolo-born ace was rewarded with his start after impressing during the initial month of his Serie A career, and manager Luciano Spalletti was full of praise for the Brazilian’s tireless workrate on the field, he said: “I am very satisfied with Rafinha, as I didn’t expect him to do that well for that length of time. He kept asking to stay on for another five minutes, but he chased everything down and went into the tackle. He did great.”
The victory was a rare one for Inter Milan, who have struggled for form since the turn of the year, but it nevertheless takes them to fourth in the standings, one point ahead of AS Roma, who suffered a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of AC Milan on Sunday.
The likes of Sampdoria and AC Milan have also within seven points off Inter after picking up their form in recent months, and Spalletti will hope that his team can withstand the pressure in order to finish in the top-four, which assures a place in next season’s Champions League.
Inter Milan boss praises leader Ivan Perisic
Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti has heaped praise on Ivan Perisic following his performance in the 2-0 victory over Crotone.
The Nerazzurri preserved their 100 percent start to the Serie A season after goals from Milan Skriniar and Perisic sealed the points.
Speaking after the game, Spalletti insisted that Perisic’s influence is beyond the playing field as he has sacrificed himself a lot, he said: “Perisic sacrificed himself a lot. Leaders show themselves when the team needs them and Ivan has shown that he is important in these opening matches. Teams that want to get results think this way, by dividing up strengths and weaknesses and by taking on responsibility when their teammates are in difficulty.”

The Croatia international had verbally agreed terms with Manchester United earlier in the summer, but the move eventually fell through after the Red Devil declined to match his £49m valuation. The attacker has since committed his future to the Nerazzurri on a fresh five-year deal, and he appears to have already hit top form this season with three goals and three assists in the Serie A.
Meanwhile, Skriniar was also delighted by his contribution towards the win after he notched the first goal of the game in the 82nd minute, he said: “I am very happy for the goal but the most important thing is that we won even if we were not at our best.”
The victory takes Inter Milan to 12 points for the campaign, and this sees them only behind Napoli and Juventus on goal difference. Cross-city rivals AC Milan have also made a good start with nine points after four games, and this could turn out to be one of the toughest Serie A campaigns for Juventus, who have won the last six Serie titles. Inter Milan will make the visit to Bologna for their next Serie A meeting on Tuesday night.
