CAN SPALLETTI SUCCEED AT INTER MILAN?

The club hired Luciano Spalletti on a two year deal finally. They were linked with Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone and Chelsea’s Antonio Conte but as both plans failed, they looked at Spalletti.

Fans of the club already have niggling doubts about him as he is from Florence, tried at Roma a bit but had a public scuffle with legend Francesco Totti. Spalletti remains a very good choice for Inter despite his poor record in big games and on the continent.

Conte and Simeone did well with Juve and Atletico as did Spalletti with AS Roma. Records reveal that he led the team to 14 victories in Serie A games out of 19. He is different from Frank de Boer andGianPieroGasperini as he prefers balanced, beautiful style of play.

Spalletti is known to be an underdog, always fighting with the bigger fishes. In his first stint at Roma, Inter were the better side and now Juventus are flying high in Italy. His win percentages are impressive for a modern Italian manager. He reached 54 percent in his first stint, taking the team three points of Inter. Last season he helped Roma to 28 wins in the Serie A with a win percentage of 66.

The Tuscan would have a tough job managing the usual politicking at the San Siro. The club’s management have scuttled efforts of good managers in the past. The president Jindong Zhang seems to have accepted the emergence of Spalletti but with Conte and Simeone preferred, he would have to work wonders with the team to be accepted.

Spalletti does not seem to be good with politics and this was obvious in his time at Roma. He would need to impress so he does not leave before his short term contract expires.

JUVE START SLOWLY

Juventus are in danger of conceding the Italian Serie A title for the first time in more than four years. The team has been champions since the winning run began in the 2011-12 season.

Inter Milan went on a similar run of five straight league titles before failing to even qualify for the Champions League. Juventus are going through a similar spell after the loss of important players in the summer.

Inter Milan went on a similar run of five straight league titles before failing to even qualify for the Champions League. Juventus are going through a similar spell after the loss of important players in the summer.

This has led to manager Massimiliano Allegri’s job coming under speculation. The Champions League campaign did began in a positive fashion but problems have started cropping up even there.

Juventus are danger of finishing second in the group stages, which would mean a tougher draw in the last 16 stages. The former AC Milan boss, though, remains cool and states that it will not be important if Juventus lose the top spot to Manchester City.

Despite losing the opening game, City have been able to climb to the top spot after winning three consecutive games. Juventus have shown a reversal in form after starting with two victories.

The upcoming game against City, though, could potentially decide the winner of the group. Second spot does appear to be confirmed if the Italian outfit take at least a point from the next game against City. It might be worth keep you eyes on the StanJames live bets index, as if City score first then Juventus simply have to score to stand any chance of going through.

“It’s an important game because it could influence who comes first in the group. We’ve got to aim to win tomorrow as it’s the only result that guarantees us qualification. Our aim from day one was to win the group, but just qualifying would still be a great result for us. If we don’t get a win, then we’ll be reliant on Sevilla’s game at Monchengladbach, but we’ve got to aim to play 95 minutes the way we have to do, aware we’re up against one of the strongest sides in Europe,” said Allegri.

LUCIO HAPPY WITH DECISION

Former Inter Milan defender Lucio has said that his decision to move to Italian champions Juventus was extremely good. The 32-year-old defender decided to bring an end to his short three-year spell with Inter Milan to an end at the start of last season.

Former Inter Milan defender Lucio has said that his decision to move to Italian champions Juventus was extremely good. The 32-year-old defender decided to bring an end to his short three-year spell with Inter Milan to an end at the start of last season.

He was one of the arrivals at Juventus along with Andrea Pirlo. Both these players have proven to be extremely influential in helping Juventus win their 28th league title and also their first league title since 2003. Lucio enjoyed tremendous success at Inter Milan after moving on a free transfer from Bayern Munich. He was the main member of the Inter Milan team that won the treble back in 2010.

He has said that he could have easily stayed at Inter Milan, but the fact that he was able to enjoy a new challenge at Juventus made the offer irresistible. He has now said that he has no regrets about moving to Juventus, who are looking to dominate Europe once again after completing their resurgence in the form of the Italian Serie A title last season. The Brazilian defender has said that Inter Milan are in a transitional phase and does not expect them to be challenging for titles anytime soon.
“I’m somebody that always honours the shirt that I wear.

Juventus have returned to being a great team and our mentality must be a winning one. I’m now at the disposal of the Coach in order to adapt to the systems he employs. We know that it won’t be easy to win in Europe, but I think Juventus is already amongst the best. We can aim for the maximum in the Champions League, as well as Serie A and the Coppa Italia,” said Lucio in the pre-season tour for Juventus. Juventus are linked with a move for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.
