Rafinha Wants Inter Milan Stay Irrespective Of Champions League Football

Brazilian footballer Rafinha is reportedly keen to remain at Inter Milan next season, according to his father. The midfielder has grown into his game since his loan move from Barcelona last summer and his father Mazinho, a former Serie A player himself, believes the Nerazzurri are the perfect club for his son to progress.

Speaking on FC Inter News, he said: “Everything depends on what Inter want to do. Whether they qualify for the Europa League or Champions League is irrelevant. For me, it makes sense for the Nerazzurri to keep such an important player like Rafa.He is young and has a big future ahead of him. All of us are happy in Milan at the moment, but we must wait.Does he wants to stay? Absolutely, we’re very happy at Inter. The team are giving value to his football.”

Inter have been lingering in and around the Champions League positions for the campaign and they are currently two points adrift of fourth-placed Lazio, who host them in the final game of the Serie A season. As such, the Nerazzurri need to win their upcoming home game against Sassuolo in order to give them the opportunity to beat Lazio in the curtain closer.

Luciano Spalletti’s side looked like genuine challengers for the Serie A crown during the first half of the season but their form supposedly nose-dived following the turn of the year alongside AS Roma. Nevertheless, the club can take some positives from their progress when compared to the previous season where they failed to qualify for Europe.

With their fifth spot, the Nerazzurri will at least make the Europa League group stage at the worst situation and this should be considered as a sign of improvement under Spalletti. Inter have won three of the previous four league games with their only defeat coming in a late 3-2 loss to Juventus.

Inter Milan Boss Disappointed With Torino Defeat

Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti has admitted that the Nerazzurri could not produce their best performance as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Torino. Adem Ljajic scored the only goal of the game during the first period, and this saw the Nerazzurri drop out of the Champions League positions with seven games to play.

Speaking after the game, Spalletti admitted that the Nerazzurri were not in the best of form despite having numerous attempts on the opposition goal, he said: “Sometimes, things just do not go your way no matter how hard you work. Today we didn’t move the ball around enough, and we wasted energy chasing down their counter attacks. We needed to show more aggression in recovering the ball after we lost it and we should have kept Torino pinned in their half. We tried today, but, there is always in an opponent to overcome to get a result.”

Meanwhile, Spalletti expressed some sympathy for Croatian attacker Ivan Perisic, who had indirectly contributed to Ljajic’s opener for the hosts, he added: “Perisic tried to recover the ball, but the rebound was not fair on him considering how hard he worked to chase back. These things can happen.”

Despite the defeat, Inter are within sights of Champions League football with just one point separating them from Lazio and Roma, who are placed in the third and fourth positions respectively in the standings. The famous old club had gone through a lean patch last term, where they failed to qualify for Europe altogether, and Champions League football may now be key on keeping hold of some of their brighter prospects.

Mauro Icardi, Ivan Perisic, and Milan Skriniar are among those linked with some of the biggest clubs including Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid, and the supporters will hope that the club can end the season on a good note with a top-four finish.

Joao Mario Does Not See Himself Playing For Inter Milan Again

Portugal international Joao Mario has suggested that Inter Milan are part of his past as he looks to revive his playing career. The Euro 2016 winner struggled to gametime during the first half of the season with the Nerazzurri, and this urged him to join the Hammers on a short-term loan in January. The midfielder started his Hammers career in a relatively strong fashion, but over the past month, the fans have slated his showing on the playing field.

Speaking in an interview in Portugal, the 25-year-old as quizzed about his future plans, where he highlighted that he has no desire to plying his trade for the Nerazzurri, he said: “I’m in a new league and I’m trying to adapt quickly. I’m happy with my new adventure and I hope to finish the season well. Inter are part of my past now. I could have played more, but football is about that too. Now I’m happy and that’s what matters most.”

It is yet to be seen whether the Hammers could pursue a permanent deal for Mario, but judging by their performances of late, there is the possibility of a squad overhaul during the summer. Should the club be interested even, they may need to preserve their Premier League status, which appears far from certain after a couple of horrendous performances.

Since the Watford victory last month, the east London side have suffered three straight losses, which have increased the fury among the club’s faithful. The Hammers suffered 4-1 defeats on the road to Liverpool and Swansea City, and this was followed by a lacklustre home performance against Burnley that brought the unwanted sight of fans trying to pause the game.

Things are not rosy for the Capital outfit at the moment with fans calling for the owners to sell the club, and the next couple of Premier League games could define whether the players have the concentration levels to keep the club clear of the drop zone. West Ham are presently two points behind 18th-placed Southampton, whom they tackle in their next league game.

3 Games to make the Champions League

Inter Milan have three games to go in their Serie A campaign, and they have a four-point gap to close if they are to make the Champions League. Right now, they sit fourth with 66 points, but to reach the Champions League next season they have to finish in the top four, which means catching either Lazio or Roma, who both have 70 points going into this weekend.

The climax of the Italian league at the top will be all about this battle as the title looks all but set to go to Juventus. The giants of Italian football are 1/25 to lift the title in the latest Serie A betting after building a four-point cushion over their only remaining rivals Napoli. With that battle almost certain to be over by the time we reach the final weekend, all eyes will be on Inter Milan and their quest for fourth place, something which looks set to go down to the wire.

With that battle almost certain to be over by the time we reach the final weekend, all eyes will be on Inter Milan and their quest for fourth place, something which looks set to go down to the wire.

One thing going in Milan’s favour over the final three games is that they have two relatively easy games to close the gap and then a game against Lazio, one of their rivals for fourth spot. There is every chance that the race could come down to that game, with a winner takes all scenario which would provide a great end to the Italian season, even though the league title will more than likely be sorted by then. Their first game of the remaining three is a trip to Udinese, a team struggling towards the bottom of Serie A right now.

After facing Udinese, Inter should have another comfortable game in their last home game of the season against Sassuolo. They too are struggling towards the bottom, and anything less than six points from these two games will put an end to the Inter Milan challenge unless either Lazio or Roma make big mistakes too.

Of the teams currently holding onto the final two Champions League spots, Roma have the toughest run-in, which includes a game against league-leading Juventus. That game could be the one that allows Juventus to clinch the title, so Roma look sure to be up against it against them. Lazio won’t have it easy either, they have sixth-placed Atalanta to play this weekend, a team more than capable of taking something off them.

Should Lazio slip up then it is likely to set up a great final game between Inter Milan and Lazio, something the fans would love to see. The winner would make the Champions League next season, while the loser would be left in fifth with a Europa League spot.

Although a four-point deficit remains with three games to go, Inter Milan still have a chance to make the Champions League next season. They are outsiders to make it, but if things go their way it could set up a winner takes all clash with Lazio on the final day of the season.

Icardi Enjoying Personal Success Despite Poor Inter Campaign

Icardi Enjoying Personal Success Despite Poor Inter Campaign

Along with San Siro rivals AC Milan, they are dwindling of late, despite such a rich club history both domestically in Italy and in European competition.

A host of managers have been brought in to try and overturn the Nerazzurri’s form and fortunes, but sadly to no avail. Those have included the likes of Frank de Boer, Roberto Mancini and Walter Mazzarri since 2013. Portuguese tactician and current Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho guided Inter to the pinnacle in 2010 with a historic treble triumph.

Success in the Champions League – where Inter beat Bayern Munich in the final – as well as Serie A and the Coppa Italia, saw them reign supreme. But it has been a turbulent spell for the club ever since reaching those dizzy heights, with very few positives standing out domestically.

One shining light during a bleak time in Milan, though, is the maintained clinical form of reliant frontman and club captain Mauro Icardi. The Argentine attacker has been constantly – and bizarrely – overlooked for international duties by his South American country.

He is priced at 6/1 in the Serie A betting to finish as top scorer this season once again. At club level, Icardi has been rampant with each passing season and is evidently one of the top strikers in world football during the current climate.

At just 24 years of age, he has a huge responsibility on his shoulders at the San Siro, having been handed the captain’s armband prior to the 2015/16 campaign.

The forward replaced former skipper Andrea Ranocchia, who had lost his role after a poor season before that. Icardi, who arrived for around £7 million from Sampdoria back in 2013, has become Inter’s key man in attack, winning the Capocannoniere for the 2014/15 term.

The South American attacker has continued to impress in the Inter frontline and has already surpassed his best scoring tally for a season at the San Siro this campaign. With 26 strikes recorded after week 35 in Italy’s top flight, he is proving his worth as one of Europe’s best finishers.
Icardi must be admired for his commitment, too. Despite fresh criticism over his leadership qualities as captain and a worrying fallout with fans over a dispute with the club’s ultras, he has remained grounded and loyal to the Nerazzurri cause.

In spite of his club continuing to suffer shock results at the hands of teams they should be easily seeing off in Serie A, Icardi is enjoying much personal success. The in-form forward is the runaway top scorer in his own side domestically with 24 league goals, while the closest to him is Ivan Perisic, on ten successful attempts.

Such a statistic proves that Inter must do all they can to strengthen their ranks in the coming months in order to take the pressure and goalscoring burden off of Icardi. The summer transfer window should be a busy period for Italian manager Stefano Pioli.

The 51-year-old is the latest coach to arrive on the scene and will hope to oversee a change in fortunes at the San Siro. But if he is to achieve such a feat, he will need to rebuild his ranks in the summer and focus his team around clinical captain Icardi.

Inter Milan Appoint Stefano Pioli as New Manager

Stefano Pioli has been appointed as the replacement for Frank de Boer at Inter Milan

The club’s inability to revive the form even after appointing the highly rated former Ajax manager had left the owners in a tight spot going into the January transfer window. They decided not to back their new manager, who had just lasted more than 80 days in charge of the club. The 51-year-old’s previous job was in charge of Lazio where he had decent success. He has managed to secure a contract until the summer of 2018, which is lower than usual period.

Managers are normally given a contract for three years. After having sacked the likes of Roberto Mancini and De Boer, the club seem keen on not giving up any more hefty compensation as a result of parting company with the manager. Pioli could not have asked for a much tougher debut, as he will be in the dugout for the game against AC Milan on November 20.

The international break means that he will have little opportunity to know his squad, as a majority of them will be away on international duty. Despite spending vast sums of money after the arrival of new owners, the club are 9th in the table after having taken only two wins in the last five matches.

Even though he is best known for his time with Lazio, Pioli has also managed other clubs like Parma in his extensive managerial career. A club lacking stability ever since the departure of Jose Mourinho in the summer of 2010, Inter Milan have managed to appoint nine managers in the last six years. The likes of Rafa Benitez and Roberto Mancini have all tried and failed when it comes to bringing back success to the San Siro. Their neighbours are also equally struggling.

INTER MILAN WILL TOP ITALIAN FOOTBALL – ZANETTI

The vice president of the club was optimistic about it when he made the promise stating that the next few years to come, will see Inter Milan return to the top of Italian football after a number of struggles over the years past.

Javier Zanetti, who during his time as a player with Inter, made 858 appearances for the club, is currently at the top of the all-time list for most games played.

Zanetti has promised that Inter Milan will return to the top of Italian football after struggling for a number of years. Zanetti played for Inter for about 19 years and retired in 2014, while his number four shirt was equally retired as well

In 2010, Inter had won the Champions League, Serie A and FIFA Club World Cup. But since then, Inter seems to be stuck and have failed to push on. They have been trophy-less ever since, but Zanetti has much confidence in the club’s ability to make headway and uphold a bright future.

This was his opinion which he told Radio Rai after the arrival of the Chinese investors, Suning.
“Suning are an important group and have a strong desire to invest,” he told Radio Rai. “For Inter, there will be a bright future. We are all working to bring Inter back to the top where, the club deserves to be.”

“In Italy, I think other foreign investors will come, with the way the league is now. Suning are going to make changes to the stadium and build new facilities for the youth sector. Our kids are important and we want them to dream of a debut in the first team.”

So far, Inter has been able to record three wins in this campaign and are currently holding the third position on the table, four points behind Juventus, who are the table leaders.

Inter Milan might be pushing Marcelo Brozovic to the exit according to his agent

Marcelo Brozovic’s agent Miroslav Bicanic has stated that his player is being forced out of the club by Inter Milan.

He said that his client is interested in staying at the club but has yet to be offered a new contract by the club. He claims that there is no communication line open between the player and the club and if this continues, they will have to seek another club for next season.

He said that his client is interested in staying at the club but has yet to be offered a new contract by the club. He claims that there is no communication line open between the player and the club and if this continues, they will have to seek another club for next season.

It is reported that both Chelsea and Arsenal might be interested in signing the player. According to Bicanic, Inter Milan director PieroAusilio has come to London during the week and may have already discussed the possibility of selling Brozovic to one of these clubs.

There is news that Inter Milan will have to sell some players so as to be able to respect the Financial Fair Play rules. Inter Milan will have to sell players first before they can recruit and with news that the Italian side might be interested in Yaya Toure, it is very likely that it will be Brozovic that will be sacrificed.

Chelsea, who will be managed by Antonio Conte next season, are keen to strengthen their midfield. Brozovic will be a great complement to Cesc Fabregas and will add some aggressiveness and strength to a midfield that has appeared flaky at times this season.

Arsenal are another team that is looking for reinforcement in midfield. With the release of Flamini, Arteta as well as Rosicky, the Gunners appear to be short on players in the midfield and will really benefit from the arrival of Brozovic. With the recent signing of Xhaka, Brozovic will be the natural complement to the Swiss and should make a good pairing in the center of midfield for the Gunners.

INTER MILAN STRIKER INSISTS ON STAYING

The impressive striker, who is only 23 years old, has his contract running with the Italian outfit till June 2019.

The player, who has put 15 goals past the goal keeper in 29 Serie A matches this season, completely ruled out a move from the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, insisting on continuing with the club.

Inter Milan sit in fourth position in the Serie A league having garnered 61 points from 33 matches prosecuted this season.

The 18-time Serie A champion are allowing the youngster make his choice on his career. Manchester United and Chelsea still keep tabs on him, hoping to lure him from the club especially with Juventus overshadowing everyone else in the league. The argentine has still refused to bulge. He keeps on insisting on growing with the club and helping it challenge for silverware.

“It’s the same story every year. Every year I read that I am leaving Inter.

“But I am happy here. I enjoy being Inter captain, being the club’s striker and to score goals here.

“Of course, I want to win trophies, but I want to do it here at Inter, like so many did before me.

“Next year we will be gunning for the Serie A title and to qualify for the Champions League,” Icardi told Corriere della Sera.

The striker signed his current deal with the club in the summer of last year and has a huge task of winning any title with the club. However, Inter Milan has won three of their last five matches. They defeated Bologna at home 2-1, played a one all draw with rival, Roma but lost to Torino at home. They came back with an away goal win against Frosinone and an impressive performance against Napoli winning by two goals.

Inter Milan’s form has been done so drastically in the last few weeks

Inter Milan’s form has been done so drastically in the last few weeks that the club now appear to be out of contention for the league title.

They have managed just one victory in the last five league matches. It has allowed the table leaders Juventus to open a 12 point advantage over Inter, but the club are not ready to give up on the season just yet according to manager Roberto Mancini. After spending significant sums of money in the summer, Mancini is now expected to get results at the San Siro. The club can no longer afford to remain out of the Champions League for long.

It has been a good few years since they were last seen in the Premier European competition. Apart from losing ground on table leaders Juventus, there is also a danger of the Italian outfit conceding more ground on the likes of Fiorentina and Roma, who are only a few points ahead. Fiorentina occupy the final Champions League qualification spot and four points ahead of Inter. Even a return to the European competition will be seen as a step in the right direction. Mancini was speaking after the club’s 2-1 loss against Fiorentina. This was the sixth defeat of the campaign for the Milan outfit.

“Building a winning team takes time. I believe that Inter are behind [the other clubs] when it comes to building a team, so time is needed. We have to go through some difficulties. Everything was going smoothly until December, but difficulties can arise during the season. We must be strong in order to get back up and not give up.Now we must continue to work. We need the support of the fans, even though it’s normal for them to be upset or disappointed when we lose,” said Mancini.
