Inter MIlan slump back down

Inter Milan slumped to yet another poor defeat in the league after a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Cagliari. This forced the manager, Walter Mazzarri, to issue an apology to the fans. Many questioned the club’s decision to offer Mazzarri a new contract extension in the summer despite having performed poorly last season. The club failed to achieve its ambition of reaching the top three once again. It looks like another poor season beckons for the 2010 European champions. They have managed just two victories after six matches the season. This defeat against Cagliari does not bode well ahead of next week’s tough match against Fiorentina.
There was a lot of positivity surrounding the Italian outfit after they brought in some experienced internationals like Nemanja Vidic to strengthen the team. However, none of the new signings have been performing well for Mazzarri, which has only compounded his problems. Vidic, for example, has been giving away penalties and goals far too easily and is in danger of being dropped even at this early stage in the season. Mazzarri will have to come up with a response against Fiorentina or risk facing the wrath of Inter supporters for the next two weeks due to the international break.
Inter are already nine points behind second placed Roma. “We’re sorry for the fans, who are suffering as we are. I got a few decisions wrong regarding squad rotation and didn’t look at how much energy we would expend, which is crucial in the modern game. When things go badly like that it all contributes to everything else going worse. A more experienced team that goes down to 10 men becomes compact and waits for the things to blow over. We’ll all learn from this lesson,” said Mazzarri, who enjoyed a brilliant spell at his previous club Napoli.

Inter Match v Dnipro to go ahead

Inter Milan begin their European campaign this season with a match against Dnipro. After having competed in the Champions League for several seasons, Inter have been going through a troubled spell where they have been unable to qualify for this Premier competition. Instead, they will once again be playing in the Europa League on Thursday nights. Inter come the back of a very good 7-0 thrashing of Sassuolo. This will give them a lot of confidence, but Walter Mazzarri will be aware that they had beaten Sassuolo by a similar score last season only to end up finishing fifth in the league.

Despite the concerns surrounding the war in Ukraine, the match is expected to go ahead without any problems. Walter Mazzarri says that he is aware of the defensive organisation within Dnipro, as he expects a tough match ahead. However, it is highly likely that Inter will once again be concentrating on the league rather than the European competitions. It is a high priority for the club that the return to the Champions League, which provides revenues of more than £ 30 million just for appearance in the group stages compared to the Europa League winners who receive a similar amount.
Due to this reason, Mazzarri says that there will be some rotation in the squad with the weekend’s trip to face Palermo in mind. “We always go on to the pitch to win and we will do the same tomorrow, even if it’s always difficult against Ukrainian teams. When I was at Napoli I lost against Dnipro and with Sampdoria against Metalist, as these teams play good football. We need to be wary. Dnipro are a side in great physical shape, a strong team that is very aggressive, but I like that challenge,” said Mazzarri, whose team are unbeaten the last five matches.

Inter Milan Faces TOugh Match

Inter Milan’s opening match of the next season is against Torino, a club that concluded the previous campaign sitting on the 7th spot but the Italian manager stated his opinion concerning the 1st match of the campaign as he went on saying that it will be a tough team and place to perform well against.

Inter Milan’s opening match of the next season is against Torino, a club that concluded the previous campaign sitting on the 7th spot but the Italian manager stated his opinion concerning the 1st match of the campaign as he went on saying that it will be a tough team and place to perform well against.
“Torino is one of the toughest places to play in Serie A against a team that is well-drilled, finished the last season on a high and qualified for the Europa League. However, every game in Serie A hides dangers and they are all very difficult. Of course, these are the classics. The Derby is a little earlier compared to last season, but Juve are right at the end, whereas last time we faced them at the start. These are prestigious games, but it doesn’t matter when they take place, as sooner or later you’ve got to face everybody.” Mazzarri said as he also talked about the upcoming classic matches against his club rivals Ac.Milan and Juventus.
According to Mazzarri it will be a tough start of the season for him and his team but he is expecting his squad to come out on top with positive results during the opening matches of the season as well as throughout the entire campaign as it will have a huge impact in his objective of competing in the Champions League with Inter Milan.
Ever since Jose Mourinho left Inter Milan, the Italian club has not enjoyed such a successful time at least compared to when Mourinho was in charge of the team as he guided the squad to a treble winning season back in the campaign of 2009-10 where Inter Milan secured winning the Champions League, Coppa Italia and Serie A title.
Mazzarri wants to restore those glory days to Inter Milan but it will be an extremely difficult task to do as Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid are the favorites of winning the Champions League meanwhile the Serie A title is being protected by a properly-structured Juventus team.

Mazzarri Signs Contract Extension

In a move that largely appears to provide the players and the manager with confidence going into the new campaign, Inter Milan have announced that the manager Walter Mazzarri has signed a one-year extension to his contract. The former Napoli manager came to the San Siro on a two-year contract. He was widely expected to leave the club back into the Champions League in his first season, but that has proved very difficult indeed. Still, there has been improvement from Inter in every area of the pitch.

He was widely expected to leave the club back into the Champions League in his first season, but that has proved very difficult indeed. Still, there has been improvement from Inter in every area of the pitch.

They may have finished 18 points behind third placed Napoli in the table, but they were in contention for a top three place for much of the season. Mazzarri’s future has been under constant speculation in the last few weeks. Inter have decided to put an end to this speculation by offering an one-year extension to his existing contract. This will see Mazzarri stay at the club until 2016. Even though the details about the contract have not been revealed, this will have a major positive influence as the club prepares for the new campaign.

Mazzarri has stated that his first job will be to get the club back into the Champions League. Since winning the competition in 2010, Inter have been struggling to scale the heights once again. “I’ll do everything in my power to get Inter back where the club belongs in Italy and Europe,” said the manager. The fixtures for the new season are yet to be released, but Inter will be hoping for a good start. Even such a good start was not enough to keep them in the race to finish in the top three towards the end of the season.
Inter looked like one of the title favourites in the first half of last season, but their challenge withered away.
