SEASON IS OVER

Inter Milan have endured one of the worst seasons in their history as a team are close to finishing ninth in the table. This would mean no European football for the team next season, while it is also looking highly unlikely that they will be able to attract big names in the summer.

There is a lot of pressure on the young manager Andrea Stramaccioni, who was given the job almost 2 years ago. He has accepted the blame for the poor season and he would understand the reasons if he were to get the sack this summer.

Inter Milan have been heavily linked with a move for Napoli manager Walter Mazzarri, who has done an extremely good job with limited resources at Napoli. The confirmation of the deal is expected to be announced once the season is completed. Stramaccioni took over at the club when they are struggling extremely after the dismissal of Claudio Ranieri. Despite getting assurances from president Massimo Moratti about his future, Stramaccioni will not be the one to complain if he gets the sack.

The team has been looking disjointed and devoid of ideas this season. Even though they started the season in a pretty good shape, things have been extremely poor since the turn of the year.

"I have to smile, because I don't want to ruin this amusing media circus. (Walter) Mazzarri and (Massimiliano) Allegri will speak after the final game, so why shouldn't I? The president speaks for me and cuts through this bizarre propaganda-like atmosphere. Moratti confirmed me four days ago, so I doubt he has changed his mind in such a short space of time. Even if he did, I would have absolutely no complaints. I must always thank the president for what he has given me," said Andrea Stramaccioni.
