Since the acquisition of Inter Milan by the Suning Holdings group earlier this year, the club has insisted on competing in the transfer market for some of the best players in the world.

Despite having interest in James Rodriguez thrown out during the summer, the club is making another serious bid to lure the Columbian away from Madrid. However, reports say the club is preparing a former Madrid star Angel Di Maria as the option in case Rodriguez rejects them for the second time.

Inter Milan Must Invest in January

Heading into the winter break in Italy, Inter Milan are already 15 points adrift of leaders Juventus in the Serie A table. Stefano Pioli’s side have a lot of work to do if they are to qualify into the Champions League next season.

One of the biggest priorities for the club next month, once the January transfer window opens, is to make sure they retain the services of Mauro Icardi. The 23-year-old striker has been the one bright spark this season where he has scored 14 goals so far in the 2016/17 campaign.

The Israeli side had defeated them at the San Siro and they came back from two goals down to thrash the 2010 Champions League winners.

Inter Milan Appoint Stefano Pioli as New Manager

Stefano Pioli has been appointed as the replacement for Frank de Boer at Inter Milan

The club’s inability to revive the form even after appointing the highly rated former Ajax manager had left the owners in a tight spot going into the January transfer window. They decided not to back their new manager, who had just lasted more than 80 days in charge of the club. The 51-year-old’s previous job was in charge of Lazio where he had decent success. He has managed to secure a contract until the summer of 2018, which is lower than usual period.

The vice president of the club was optimistic about it when he made the promise stating that the next few years to come, will see Inter Milan return to the top of Italian football after a number of struggles over the years past.

Javier Zanetti, who during his time as a player with Inter, made 858 appearances for the club, is currently at the top of the all-time list for most games played.

The Serie A giant celebrated a stunning victory after a 2-1 win against rival, Juventus at San Siro, Italy.

Juventus right-midfielder, Stephan Lichtsteiner had given the champions a 66th-minute lead but Icardi drew Inter level almost immediately then set up the winner for Ivan Perisic 10 minutes later.

Frank De Boer is not eyeing top division trophy

Frank De Boer is not eyeing top division trophy at this point and only wants to be in between one to three in the table to be able to contend in the continent next season, but, he reckons if Inter keeps neck and neck with Juventus till the end of the summer, the trophy would become a realistic possibility.

De Boer dismisses that Juventus, after welcoming the league’s best player of previous season in the form of Gonzalo Higuain, would be a tougher nut to crack now and would remain uncatchable again.

Frank de Boer says that transfer target Daley Blind seems to be happy

Inter Milan manager Frank de Boer says that transfer target Daley Blind seems to be happy at Manchester United despite the threat of first-team opportunities being reduced under the regime of José Mourinho.

Since the arrival of the Portuguese, the club has spent a whopping £ 150 million on four new players including a defender Eric Bertrand Bailly. The Ivory Coast international has arrived at Old Trafford for a fee of £ 30 million and he is likely to be the first choice ahead ofBlind. The Dutchman was signed by former manager Louis van Gaal. He is unlikely to be favoured by the current regime unless he is extremely good.

Mateo Kovacic says that he will not return to Inter Milan

Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic says that he will not return to Inter Milan as long as the club retain the services of manager Roberto Mancini.

In the past, Mancini has divided opinions amongst players with many names like Yaya Touré willing to do anything to play for the Italian. There have also been names like Kovacic, who have despised the sight of the Italian. Even though Kovacic has had only limited first-team opportunities since his move to Real Madrid, the midfielder is not thinking about a return to the club where he had spent almost 3 years.
