MARTINEZ ON TARGET AGAINST HONDURAS

Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez was amongst the goals as Argentina thrash Honduras 3-0 in an international friendly clash played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida on Friday night. The Inter Milan hitman started the game as the central striker for two-time world champions Argentina with Sevilla star Papu Gomez and the great Lionel Messi as his supporting cast in attack.

Ex-Atalanta skipper Gomez provided the assist for the first goal scored by the aforementioned Martinez. The Inter Milan star registered the first goal of the game on 16 minutes before Paris Saint Germain (PSG) playmaker Messi doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the second minute of first half added time. Argentina established a comfortable two-goal lead at the end of the first 45 minutes thanks to the goals from Martinez and Messi.

Messi scored the goal of the game via an audacious chip on 69 minutes to wrap up the game for his team. He produced the best moment of the game shortly after substitute Enzo Fernandez won the ball back into his path in the Honduras half. He was able to complete his brace thanks to the chip having spotted Luis Lopez in the Honduras goal off his line.
With his brace against Honduras, Messi has extended his record as the player with the most goals for the Argentina senior national team. He has scored 88 goals for the two-time world champions.
Argentina are one of the most in-form teams on the international football scene. They are unbeaten in the last 34 games on the international football stage. Messi and his Argentina teammates are in superb form ahead of the upcoming World Cup tournament in Qatar. They are one of the favourites to win the tournament.
Jamaica are the next opponents for Argentina with the game scheduled to take place on Tuesday night. They can make it 35 games without defeat against the Jamaicans.
