INTER, MILAN EYEING CHELSEA DEFENDER

Inter Milan and AC Milan are in a two-way race to sign Chelsea defender Trevor Chalobah.A transfer market Derby della Madonnina has been set up in the chase for young English defender Chalobah. Inter Milan were the first team to be linked with a loan move for Chalobah before they were joined in the race by City rivals AC Milan.

Chalobah is available for a transfer out of Chelsea on loan once the Blues are able to sign a new defender with Wesley Fofana as their main target. Leicester City centre back Fofana has been the subject of three separate bidsfrom Chelsea and those bids were turned down by the Foxes who are reluctant to sell the Frenchman.

Inter Milan are in the market for a new central defender and Chalobah could be their man. They have been on the search for a new centre back for several weeks on the back of the departure of Andrea Ranocchia. Inter Milan and Chelsea have already done business in this summer’s transfer window and there could be a repeat with Chalobah. Belgian international RomeluLukaku left Chelsea to return to Inter Milan on a season-long loan last month. Last summer, Chelsea had spent almost £98m to secure the transfer of Lukaku from Inter Milan. Inter Milan tried and failed to sign Brazilian central defender Gelson Bremer earlier this summer after they missed out on him to rivals Juventus. Also, Inter Milan have had to deal with the interest from French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in one of their central defenders. Slovakian star Milan Skriniar is a top target for PSG, but it looks like he would be staying at Inter Milan.
AC Milan are in the hunt for a new central defender and their focus is on 23-year-old Chalobah as a result. Apart from AC Milan and Inter Milan, German side RB Leipzig are also in the hunt for the Chelsea defender.
