RANIERI GETS EMOTIONAL

Inter Milan manager Claudio Ranieri has said that he will feel like crying if Inter Milan do not progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League after their 1-0 lead over Marseille from the first leg.

Inter Milan managed to win the first leg encounter between the two clubs 1-0 with a last gasp goal, which many regard to be the crucial one in this tie.

Due to the fact that it is an away goal, Inter Milan are the favourites to qualify for the quarter-finals, while Claudio Ranieri is also nervous because if Inter Milan fail to qualify, then he would feel like crying.

RANIERI GETS BOOST

Brazilian defender Lucio has said that his club Inter Milan should persuade enough to sign Sao Paulo starlet Lucas either in the January transfer window or in the summer.

Lucas has been rated as one of the hottest young prospects in world football, despite being relatively young. Inter Milan have appointed Genoa boss Gian Piero Gasperini as the successor to Leonardo. The 53-year-old Gasperini takes over the Inter hotseat on a two-year contract.

"The official announcement will be made once all the final administrative formalities have been completed," Inter confirmed on their website.

Leonardo's departure paves the way for the Brazilian to take over at PSG, the French side now under the control of Qatar Sports Investments (QSI).

Inter president Massimo Moratti expressed his "complete satisfaction" at Gasperini's arrival and wished the new manager well.

ETO'O PLEASED WITH START

Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto'o says that he is happy with the club's start this season's Champions League. The Nerazzurri managed a 2-2 draw at tournament debutants FC Twente on Tuesday night, with Eto'o getting his name on the scoresheet.
